Repairing the Repair Data Icon


The information in this article applies to:

CaseWizard 2000


Moderate: Requires knowledge of the user interface on single-user computers.

SYMPTOMS
Clicking on the CaseWizard 2000 Repair Data icon/link doesn't do anything.

REASONS
On a network installation of CaseWizard 2000 the datafile does not reside on the local computer, but on the server.

RESOLUTION
You will need to repair the CaseWizard 2000 Repair Data shortcut.

  1. Click on the Start button on the lower left hand corner of your screen.
  2. Go up to Settings and then over to Taskbar and Start Menu.
  3. Click on the Advanced tab and click on the Advanced button.
  4. A window will pop up and you will now double-click on Programs in the window on your right.
  5. Find CaseWizard 2000 and double-click this icon.
  6. Right-click on CaseWizard 2000 and a menu will pop up.
  7. Select Properties and right-click once.

By default the CaseWizard Repair Data shortcut contains the following link information:

"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\ART\Msaccess.exe" /repair "C:\Program Files\Casewiz2000\CaseWiz2000Data.mdb"

of if your computer already has a copy of Microsoft Access 2000 installed:

"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\Msaccess.exe" /repair "C:\Program Files\Casewiz2000\CaseWiz2000Data.mdb"

You will need to modify the the last portion in quotes from:
"C:\Program Files\Casewiz2000\CaseWiz2000Data.mdb"

to

"X:\YourFolder\CaseWiz2000Data.mdb"

Where X:\YourFolder is the location where your data file currently resides.
